About this style: 0201 Regular slotted container. About the board: B flute.

How the Spec Builder decides

  1. Inside dimensions are the product plus twice the cushion on each axis, turned so length is at least width.
  2. Style: a regular slotted container unless the product is fragile or over 40 lb gross (full overlap), shallow parcel-only with graphics (die-cut mailer), or over 20 ft³ palletized (bulk bin).
  3. Load on the bottom box is (boxes in the stack − 1) × gross weight; parcel assumes 6 high.
  4. Required strength is that load times a safety factor built from storage, humidity, pattern and overhang losses.
  5. The board is the lowest ECT, in B, C, BC or EB, whose McKee estimate meets the requirement.
  6. Outside dimensions, blank, dimensional weight and pallet pattern follow from the chosen board.
