How it works

  1. Tries all six orientations of the item and keeps the one that fits most, column packed with one orientation throughout.
  2. Fill = units × item volume ÷ bin volume.

Results are estimates for planning. Confirm critical packs by test. Full method.

Reading the result

Enter the bin's inside size and the item's outside size. The count assumes one orientation for the whole bin, the way most bins are hand-packed in practice.

If the fill is low, try the item turned or a different bin depth; a bin a few inches shallower can hold the same number of layers with less wasted headspace.
